"Waiting on" Wednesday

"Waiting on” Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that showcases much awaited upcoming releases.

In this weeks "Waiting on" Wednesday I will be doing things a little differently from previous weeks. While previously I have been listing books within the week I posted, this week I will simply be showing you books that I want no matter how far in the future. These are books that I am waiting for above all others and would gladly do any number of things to get my hands on them right now. Unfortunately the release dates for all of them are VERY far into the future, way too far for an impatient person like me!

The first book that I absolutely CANNOT wait for is "Ruins" by Dan Wells. I have read the previous two books in this trilogy and fell head over heels in love with them. They are easily among the best books I have ever read and are books that I constantly go back to re-read. As far as I'm concerned any release day past today, for this book, is too long away!

Kira, Samm, and Marcus fight to prevent a final war between Partials and humans in the gripping final installment of the blockbuster Partials Sequence.

Our time is almost up.

As the clock ticks closer and closer to the final Partial expiration date, humans and Partials stand on the brink of war. Caught in the middle, thousands of miles apart, are Samm and Kira: Samm, who is trapped on the far side of the continent beyond the vast toxic wasteland of the American Midwest; and Kira, now in the hands of Dr. Morgan, who is hell-bent on saving what's left of the Partials, even if she has to destroy Kira to do it.

The only hope lies in the hands of the scattered people of both races who seek a way to prevent the rapidly escalating conflict. But in their midst appears a mysterious figure, neither human nor Partial, with solemn warnings of the new apocalypse-one that none of them may be able to avert.

The last book in the Partials Sequence is a thrill ride of epic proportions, as the last remnants of life on our planet fight to determine its final fate.
Release Date: 11 March 2014

The second book on my need-immediately list "Cress" by Marissa Meyer. This is the third in the series and I loved the first two books. Both were really interesting and extremely fun reads. They are based on the idea of fairytale characters on the future. The first two starred versions of Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood with this installment in the series featuring Rapunzel. I really can't wait to get my hands on this one!

Rapunzel's tower is a satellite. She can't let down her hair - or her guard.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker – unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.
Release Date: 4 February 2014

Another book I'm eagerly looking forward to is "Creators" by Tiffany Truitt. This is the conclusion to the Lost Souls trilogy. (Is anyone else noticing a theme here? Third books galore!) This is a series which I really and truly enjoyed reading and is very well written. The previous books are absolute must-reads!

Heartbroken but more determined than ever after a tense showdown in the woods, sixteen-year-old Tess once again returns to the safety of her community of Isolationists. Bolstered by new alliances and desperate to protect those she loves, this time she knows she can return stronger and more powerful than ever to take back what is hers.

As she trains in combat and grows more confident, Tess receives beautiful letters penned by her forbidden love, the chosen one James, from his prison in Templeton. He is now serving as a bodyguard to the creators—the team of scientists who created artificial life in the first place. And what he has discovered about the true origin of the illness that halted natural life could change everything.

Enemy will become ally and death will bring new hope in this stunning conclusion to Tiffany Truitt’s epic Lost Souls trilogy.
Release Date: 1 April 2014

The last book on this weeks "Waiting on" Wednesday is the third book in the series yet again. "Isla and the Happily Ever After" by Stephanie Perkins is the sequel to "Anna and the French Kiss" and "Loa and the Boy Next Door". While each book could be read on its own I really recommend reading them in order as some of the characters appear in more than one book. I think I'm going to have to go re-read them while I wait for this one to come out!

From the glittering streets of Manhattan to the moonlit rooftops of Paris, falling in love is easy for hopeless dreamer Isla and introspective artist Josh. But as they begin their senior year in France, Isla and Josh are quickly forced to confront the heartbreaking reality that happily-ever-afters aren’t always forever.

Their romantic journey is skillfully intertwined with those of beloved couples Anna and Étienne and Lola and Cricket, whose paths are destined to collide in a sweeping finale certain to please fans old and new.
